What a beautiful street Main Street Columbia is. We have been here for four years (before the streetscaping, through the construction, and during the rebuilding)…four years of hard work and tenacity. I am proud to be a part of the Main Street community, a community which is full of a lot of wonderful, hard working people who are willing to put in a lot of time and energy to see their street thrive again.

All the work has finally paid off. There have been some great things that have happened in the past, but the events of the last couple of weeks are truly exciting. A couple of weeks ago, we lost a great friend and neighbor (Kickstand Studio). Before the move out was even completed, our new neighbors were moving in…an awesome and established salon (Pia’s). Yesterday, the news was delivered that a new restaurant (Cowboys Brazilian Steakhouse) is set to open by the end of July in to the old Gotham location (on the other side of us). The Brazilian steakhouse concept is gaining popularity nationally and is well-known internationally, but is an unfilled niche within the Columbia Metro area. To finish off the run of great progress, the old Lourie’s Building will be reborn with the opening of Mast General Store next Wednesday. Mast General is a monster of a local, community-based retailer that will instantly impact the street with its amazing draw of tourists and locals alike.
